Vafias-led tanker owner readies first fundraiser

IMPERIAL Petroleum, the owner of a fleet of four tankers that was listed on the Nasdaq last month after being spun off from gas carrier company StealthGas, has filed with regulators in preparation for its first fundraiser. The company is planning to sell 5m units, each comprising one common share and a warrant to purchase a further share within the next five years. Assuming an offering price of $2 per unit, the offering is expected to bring in gross proceeds of about $8.9m, or $10.3m if underwriters fully exercise an option to buy an additional 750,000 units.
