Russian Area Defense SAMs

Russia is currently exporting three high-altitude surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems, the Almaz S-300P. the Antey S-300V. and the new Almaz Antey S-400 Triunif. The Almaz S-300P system is a close analog of the US Army's Patriot air defense system, and the S-400 is an evolutionary off-spring somewhat akin to the Patriot'MEADS. The Antey S-300V has no immediate counterpart except for the forthcoming THAAD. and is the world's first dedicated anti-tactical ballistic missile system (ATBM).
