Paveway Laser Guided Bombs

The Paveway laser guided bombs entered development in 1965 for Vietnam War requirements. In subsequent years, the system has evolved through the Paveway Ⅱ and current Paveway Ⅲ technologies. Production continues for US and FMS export requirements. Raytheon delivered its 250,000th Paveway LGB on 26 October 2004. The Paveway Ⅱ has been exported to at least 27 countries. The Air Force and Navy expended 8,400 LGBs from their inventory of 27,000 during Operation Desert Storm, and acquired 9,100 GBU-24 and 1,300 GBU-27 to replace them.
