Interest in developing coal mining in Mongolia continues to rise

Mining interest in the central Asian country of Mongolia continues to gain pace as the major diversified miners start to look at forming alliances with exploration companies already present in the country. Mongolia, nestled in between China and Russia, has for long been considered too capital-intensive to develop its vast natural resources. However, exploration companies-overwhelmingly Canadian-based firms-have conducted drilling on Mongolian sites and establish relationships with the federal government, helping to pave the way to further investment in the country.
