China: Locally-built Daihatsu Xenia debuts at Shanghai motor show

DAIHATSU has given the Xenia its Chinese debut at the Shanghai motor show. The minivan, designed especially for developing markets, will be built at the FAW Jilin Auto joint venture plant. There will be two engines for the Chinese-built Xenia; a 1.3-litre I4 for five-seater versions and a 1.5-litre unit for seven-seaters. Daihatsu showed a 1.5-litre version of the Xenia at the Beijing show in November 2006, calling it the 'D-01' concept.
