DSME delivers VLCC to KOTC

Kuwait Oil Tanker Co (KOTC) has taken delivery of the very large crude carrier (VLCC) Al Funtas from South Korean yard Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME). The 316,648dwt Al Funtas is the first in a series of four that KOTC ordered from DSME in January 2012 with the next vessel, Dasma, scheduled for delivery in the following month. The final two are due for delivery in July and August 2014. Al Funtas was named in South Korea during the first week of December. It has an overall length of 333m, beam 60m, depth 30.5m, draught 22.5m and is powered by a Waert-silae 7RT-flex82T main engine.
