THE COMMUNITY PASTURE iNFLUENCE

ABOUT 5,000 HEAD of cattle every year frequent community pastures in Ontario. Yet their influence is largely unknown. Ontario's Community Pastures offer a service to local beef and dairy farmers who require the space to pasture cattle. And putting pounds on cattle they do. But their history has been that of larger service to the Ontario agricultural community and has helped develop pasture management skills here. Originally a government initiative, it's the communities that now keep the pastures andtheir influence going.
