Court of Justice confirms Brindisi port boss

The European Court of Justice in The Hague has overturned a ruling by an Italian court barring Greek national Iraklis Haralambidis from being appointed president of the state-run port authority of Brindisi, in Italy's heel.Haralambidis was appointed port boss in 2011 but the appointment was contested by a rival candidate, Italian businessman Calogero Casilli. A regional court ruled that an appointment to a state-run administration should not go to a non-Italian national.
