Mexican auto output lowest for August in 10 years

Mexican light vehicle production continued its sharp decline in August, posting the lowest numbers for that month in 10 years as global supply chain disruptions continued to hinder the industry. Production declined to 237,040 vehicles, a 21pc drop from the 301,739 units produced in August 2020, according to the country's statistics agency (Inegi). That was the lowest monthly number for August since the country produced 221,637 units in 2011.
