The effect of some biofertilizers, Cerealin (Azospirillum spp.) and Nemales (Serratia spp.), on the growth, chemical constituents and productivity of wheat cv. Giza 167 under different levels of NPK (1/4, 1/2 and full recommended NPK rate) was determined in a field experiment in Egypt, during the 1998-99 and 1999-2000 cropping seasons. The biofertilizers in combination with NPK rates resulted in increased growth characters, and nutrients, sugar, amino acid and growth regulator (IAA, gibberellic acid and cytokinin) and crude protein contents of the plant. Crop yield increased with increasing NPK levels. The highest yield was obtained with the highest NPK rate combined with both biofertilizers.
