The present study aimed to evaluate the hazardous effects of orally administered 1/10 LD50 of fenitrothion, cyphenothrin, azadiractin and pyriproxyfen on blood parameters of white albino rat. The tested pesticides caused negligible changes in haemoglobin content, however an abnormal increase in blood glucose level was observed from azadirachtin followed by fenitrothion, cyphenothrin and pyriproxyfen. Total blood protein content significantly increased especially after 3 days, using azadirachtin followed by cyphenothrin, fenitrothion and pyriproxyfen. Considering blood albumin content, data indicate that azadiractin and fenitrothion caused abnormal stimulation in albumin content 1 h after oral administration (3.9g/dL and 3.8g/dL respectively). However, pyriproxyfen reduced albumin than normal. Blood globulin content immediately increased after pyriproxyfen administration and continued until the 3rd week. Pyriproxyfen increased the red blood cell content in the blood of treated rats especially at the early period of experiment, while azadirachtin, cyphenothrin and fenitrothion had no noticeable effect. However, pyriproxyfen, followed by azadirachtin and fenitrothion, increased white blood cell content of treated rats within 3 days. Platelet countsincreased as a result of fenitrothion administration, followed by azadirachtin and pyriproxyfen. However, cyphenothrin caused, in general, a reduction influence on blood platelets.
