THEY WERE THE first two of only three members of the Appaloosa Horse Club to ever be awarded a truly historic honor, induction into both the ApHC and Racing Halls of Fame. Their credentials and achievements had to have been special to warrant such recognition, more so than the many other "Movers and Shakers" who built both the Appaloosa Horse Club and racing industry. What more did they do than "contribute," as many others before and since have done?Over the course of their long associations with the world of Appaloosas, what did they do to become "two who made history?" Why were they so deserving? Who were these two historic figures, one very well known to anyone even remotely familiar with Appaloosa history, and the other, lesser known and perhaps not as fully and widely appreciated? What was their involvement in racing? We devote Part VIII of our Series to exploring these questions.
