Aviation revenues rise on account of Asia-Pacific thrust

With higher than expected growth in passenger traffic, yields and load factors in the first five months of 2010, barring a blip in April, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) revised upwards its forecast for airline operators. The industry will post a global profit of $2.5 billion in 2010, IATA says in its latest forecast, taking a U-turn from its forecast of a $2.8 billion loss (March). Industry revenues are forecast to be $545 billion in 2010, up from $483 billion in 2009, but below the $564 billion achieved in 2008.
