Hunting down seconds with CAD and CAM

Speed is the crux when a job is to be accomplished by Germany's biggest contract manufacturer for metal processing, Kinkele at Ochsenfurt. Its annual sales amounting to about DM 70 million are achieved almost exclusively in single-unit production. To allow flexible management of the comprehensive machine and tool inventories, Kinkele has since early in the 90s been relying successfully on CAD/CAM systems from Coscom at Ebersberg. A module for tool management now has meant another step forward.
