Daikin Europe N.V. Ahead of the Competition on Environmental Challenges

Since the impact of human activities on the environment first became known several decades ago, Daikin has anticipated the changes in technology and design needed to meet this challenge, often before being required to do so by regulations. Two major environmental challenges, depletion of the ozone layer and global warming, have resulted in global and European legislation to address these issues. To take the example of ozone depletion and the HCFC-based refrigerant R22, Daikin was the first in the industry to develop units optimized for the non-HCFC refrigerants R407C/R410A for its VRV-L series (2002) and SkyAir. This was well before the required deadlines followed by the competition.
