China's Nisco cuts March ferro-silicon intake

Chinese private-sector steel producer Nisco has cut its ferro-silicon tender intake for March because of adequate supplies. The company is scheduled to buy 2,000t of 72pc grade alloy in March, down by 500t from February when it raised tender prices by 540 yuan/t ($83.60/t) against January to Yn7,600/t delivered and paid by acceptance bill. This was on the back of an expected fall in alloy output caused by power rationing and reduced output capacity from major producing region Inner Mongolia at the time.
