Russian Iron Ore Market

The iron ore self-sufficiency keeps improving in Russia. NLMK continues expanding production capacities at Stoylensky GOK;;Severstal is investing into the development of Yakovlevsky Mine;; EVRAZ is also implementing a number of projects to develop iron ore production. Olenegorsky and Korshunovsky GOKs invest into production development. Kimkano-Sutarsky and Bystrinsky GOKs will scale up concentrate output in the forecast period (this year, the two companies will jointly raise production by over 1.2 million t). Russian producers continue improving iron ore quality to take advantage of favourable global market conditions and raise exports.
