IIR sees US offline refining capacity dropping off again after recent rise

According to IIR Energy,US refiners are expected to have 3.744MM b/d of refining capacity offline in the week ending Feb.5,as can be seen in the following chart.That projection is an upward revision from earlier forecasts for 3.471-3.552MM b/d.This week's offline capacity is down from the 4.035MM b/d that was estimated to have been idled in the week to Jan.29,which was an upward revision from previous forecasts for 3.480-3.874MM b/d.Preliminary projections show 3.539MM b/d will be down during the week to Feb.12.
