Chinese EMM falls on easing supply constraints, bearish steel outlook

S&P Global Platts assessed Chinese 99.7% electrolytic manganese metal at $2,400-$2,500/mt FOB China on March 5, down from $2,500- $2,600/mt assessed on Feb. 26. Electrolytic manganese metal prices dipped for the first time after holding firm at $2,500-$2,600/mt over the past five weeks on limited spot activity amid previous news of POSCO’s successful March tender and bearish sentiment around the downstream stainless steel market.
