Weekly iron ore shipments from major producers slump by 26%: cFlow

Singapore—Iron ore shipments by Rio Tinto, BHP, Vale, Fortescue Metals Group and Roy Hill, as well as from Saldanha port in South Africa, slumped by 26% week on week to 16.81 million mt in the Jan. 31 - Feb. 6 week, data from S&P Global Platts trade flow software cFlow showed. In Western Australia, the Pilbara Ports Authority said Jan. 30 that it had cleared Port Hedland and Port of Dampier of vessels due to a tropical low, which could be the main reason behind the big drop.
