Bahamas Wildcat Comes Up Dry

Bahamas Petroleum Co. (BPC) said it will plug and abandon its Perseverance-1 exploration well off the coast of Andros Island in the Bahamas after it encountered noncommercial volumes of hydrocarbons. BPC was targeting what it estimated was up to 1.4 billion bbl of prospective resources with Perseverance-1, which was spudded on Dec. 20 (OD Dec.21’20). The company had originally intended to spud the well in March, but was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic. The company will now analyze the technical data from the project to determine its next step in the area.
