Suit Filed Over Drilling Plan

The state of Colorado has filed suit to halt a federal plan to open public lands in the southwestern part of the state to gas and oil drilling,saying it has no force of law.The Jan.15 complaint in US District Court in Denver asks for the plan to be tossed,arguing that it was approved while William Pendley was serving unlawfully as acting director of the US Bureau of Land Management.
