Saudi Arabia: MPC could be down for another month

There are unconfirmed reports that the latest outage at Ma’aden’s MPC ammonia plant (1.1 million t/year capacity) could last a month. Coming swiftly on the back of an unscheduled outage of two weeks this could create huge problems for clients in the Far East and India. To date, Ma’aden has said that the shutdown has not affected its ability to produce phosphate or meet its obligations to customers.
