ACC’s CAB posts March increase

ACC’s chemical activity barometer (CAB), a leading economic indicator and composite of industry activity, posted a 1.2% sequential gain on a three-month-moving average (3MMA) basis in March. This follows a 1.0% sequential 3MMA increase in February. On a year-on-year (YOY) basis, the CAB rose 5.5% in March. “The latest CAB reading is consistent with solid expansion of commerce, trade, and industry into the fourth quarter,” said Kevin Swift, chief economist at ACC.
