Resource Productivity and Returns to Scale in Cotton Farming of Warangal District of Andhra Pradesh

The study conducted in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh in 1999 comprised two mandals, 8 villages and 80 farmers, selected for the study. Among various farms of production function models, the Cobb-Douglas production function model was chosen to estimate the returns to scale. It is observed that decreasing returns to scale exist in the case of small and large farms and increasing returns to scale in case of medium and pooled farms.
