State-owned Qatar Petroleum (QP) is moving ahead with the 16 million ton per year second phase of its planned 48 million ton/yr LNG mega-expansion, the biggest liquefaction project awaiting sanction anywhere in the world. The development comes as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates begin to lift the 3V2-year blockade on Doha that has disrupted supply chains and heightened regional tensions, and LNG prices continue to surge (p8).
