Platts LNG Pricing Window Scores First Trade

Commodities pricing agency S&P Global Platts has advanced its market-on-close (MOC) pricing window for LNG, with trading firms Trafigura and Vitol executing the first spot trade on the platform on Jul. 5 at $10.40 per million Btu. Diamond Gas International, the trading subsidiary of Japan's Mitsubishi, became the latest firm to sign up for the LNG MOC process alongside Trafigura, Vitol, Japanese trading house Itochu, oil major BP and Singapore's state-run Pavilion Gas. But market participants and observers say industry-wide adoption.
