The 2012 release of the ranking of the main depositors of patents in France evolves little compared with 2011, in the general composition of its prize list. On the other hand, it demonstrates the changes of strategy of certain companies and research centers regarding industrial property, in spite of a period which continues to be marked by the world economic and financial situation. Indeed, the crisis seems to have a limited impact on the industrial innovation and the research as the global volume of applications for patents published by the first 20 depositors of the ranking knows a light increase compared with the previous year. The modifications seen in the prize list thus illustrates more changes of strategy from depositors.
