摘要

Running is an enjoyable form of exercise for many people and can sometimes be relied upon to claw back a few minutes if late for an appointment. But running as a serious form of transport - or a method of commuting - is not something I had considered in all my years of pounding the streets after work, writes Mike Walter. It sounds, however, that I may have been on the wrong foot. According to transport technology specialist and keen runner Scott Cain there are around a quarter of a million people in the UK who run for everyday journeys and commutes.
