Magmatic fabric analysis using anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS) is used to define and quantify magnetic fabrics of granitoid rocks in a variety of different tectonic settings. While AMS has often been used to determine the tectonic strain acquired during ductile microstructure development (Hrouda 1994), very few studies have focused on the effect hydrothermal alteration (Just and Kontny 2012; Just et al. 2004) and brittle deformation has on these magnetic fabrics.
