Aramco review hails new discoveries

State-owned Saudi Aramco’s long-awaited annual review for 2017 reveals that it discovered two new oil fields and one new gas reservoir last year. The review also shows that a project to expand its master gas system — an interlinked network of gas processing facilities and pipelines — to 12.5bn ft3/d (129bn m3/yr) from 9.6bn ft3/d is on track for completion in 2019. The company lists the new oil fields as Sakab, southeast of the Haradh gas field, and Zumul in the Empty Quarter desert.
