Brexit and the Reynolds number

REYNOLDS NUMBER PREDICTS THE TRANSITION FROM SMOOTH AND PREDICTABLE LAMINAR FLOW OF A FLUID TO A CHAOTIC AND UNSTABLE TURBULENT STATE, DAVID GOSS, TECHNICAL MANAGER FOR THE BRITISH INDUSTRIAL TRUCK ASSOCIATION (BITA), PONDERS WHETHER THERE IS A CONNECTION BETWEEN THE BREXIT TRANSITION PHASE AND THIS FORM OF SCIENTIFIC ANALYSIS. In his 1894 Royal Society paper, Osborne Reynolds, the prominent innovator in the understanding of fluid dynamics, identified a clearly defined transition between a smooth, steady fluid flow to one of greater turbulence. Even today, after a further 124 years of study, this extraordinarily complicated transition phase is not fully understood.
