China publishes technical guidelines for registering and filing cosmetics

China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) has published three important technical guidelines to help cosmetic companies fulfil their registration or filing obligations under the new Cosmetics Supervision and Administration Regulation (CSAR). The guidelines, published on 9 April, include an option for cosmetic companies to provide the NMPA with abridged versions of required cosmetic safety assessment reports until 1 May 2024 in order to reduce the burden on the cosmetic industry.
