China publishes finalised regulations on data requirements for cosmetics and new cosmetic ingredients: Online system for reporting quality and safety information to go live in April

China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) has finalised two Regulations detailing the information and data required for the registration and filing of cosmetics and new cosmetics ingredients. Registration and filing are distinct mechanisms under the overarching Cosmetics Supervision and Administration Regulation (CSAR), which came into force on 1 January. Chinese and overseas manufacturers must register special use cosmetics and new ingredients, while general use cosmetics and ingredients need only be filed.
