摘要

Three new palladium metal(II) complexes with a second generation of ofloxacin drug (OFL) and two amino acids (glycine and alanine) as a mixed chelate were synthesized and identified using microanalytical, spectroscopic and physical techniques including elemental analyses, molar conductivity, infrared, electronic spectra, H-1 and C-13 NMR, XRD, SEM, EDX techniques and thermal analyses. The microanalytical analyses deduced that the molar ratios are 1:2 (Pd2+:OFL) as [Pd(OFL)(2)]Cl-2 and 1:1:1 (Pd2+:OFL:AA) complexes as [Pd(OFL)(AA)]Cl (where AA is Gly-or Ala-amino acids). In these complexes, OFL chelate acts as bi-dentate via nitrogen atoms of the piperazine ring. The antibacterial activity of the complexes was investigated against Klebsiella, E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Staphylococcus epidermidis. The data obtained revealed that the complexes showed greater activity against the four micro-organisms when compared to standard drug compounds. (c) 2020 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
