Brazil’s Petrobras confirms offshore Sagitario find

Rio de Janeiro—Brazil’s Petrobras has completed a well-formation test at its offshore Sagitario subsalt prospect, confirming a light oil discovery first made in February 2013, the state-led company said. The formation test on the 1-SPS-98 well in the Santos Basin showed good permeability in the prospects carbonate reservoirs, which contain oil rated at 32 API, Petrobras said in a late Tuesday statement. The well was the first drilled in the BM-S-50 block, about 194 km off Sao Paulo state.
