US condensate exports face capacity limits

Washington—Dozens of companies are planning to process and export the increasing volumes of condensate being produced from Texas’ Eagle Ford Shale play, but growth will be limited in the near term by tight distillation capacity, analysts said last week. While estimates of potential US processed condensate exports are as high as 1 million b/d, analysts say current distillation capacity ranges from about 310,000 b/d to 400,000 b/d. This capacity is for field stabilizers with distillation towers, through which condensate must be processed to satisfy US Department of Commerce export requirements.
