Gas companies eye investments in crude by rail

Houston— Natural gas companies are increasingly looking to break into the crude by rail business as the North American shipping phenomenon grows, a manager of an independent investment banking advisory firm said Thursday. A group of “traditional natural gas folks,” who began dealing in natural gas liquids in the last five or six years, “are now saying they are chasing crude oil,” Rob Pacha, senior managing director for Evercore Partners, said during a panel discussion at Bloomberg’s Oil and Gas Conference.
