Repsol moves to block Chevron’s YPF shale deal

London—Repsol has asked for an injunction from the World Bank’s arbitration body to block a deal between Argentina’s YPF and Chevron to develop its former shale resources in the South American country, Repsol’s chief financial officer Miguel Martinez said Thursday. A request for a precautionary injunction was submitted to the World Bank’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) in Washington on Wednesday, Martinez said.
