US railroads grab back crude oil volumes

New York-US crude by rail shipments are growing again in Q4, having leveled off in the third quarter after several years of explosive growth as a direct result of changing relation- ships in crude prices. But several railroads and refiners noted in their quarterly earnings reports that crude pricing supporting crude by rail has returned in the fourth quarter-which is borne out in shipments of crude by rail statistics that show an uptick in usage.
