Petrobras expects 2015 crude output to grow 4.5%

Rio de Janeiro—Brazilian state-run oil company Petrobras expects crude oil production to increase 4.5% in 2015, the company said Wednesday. Petrobras’ forecast would push average output to 2.126 million b/d in 2015, up from 2014’s average of 2.034 million b/d. The company, however, has a long history of failing to meet its production targets. Last year’s output increased 5.3% from 1.931 million b/d in 2013, but was short of the 7.5% growth initially targeted at the start of the year. The letter was included in the release of the firm’s unaudited third-quarter 2014 financial statements.
