Singapore—Australian-listed Dart Energyhopes to conclude a production sharing con-tract and start exploration drilling in its firstshale gas block in China by the end of theyear, a company executive said June 27.“We hope to start drilling our first well bythe end of the year or early next year,” Dart’schief commercial officer Eytan Uliel said onthe sidelines of the 17th Asia Upstream Con-ference in Singapore.Dart is finalizing an agreement with localChinese company Henan Provincial Coal GasDevelopment and Utilization to participate inthe Xiushan shale gas block near Chongqingcity in Sichuan province.
