Russian producer Bashneft said Wednes- day that it has bought 100% of Bashneft-Ser- vice Assets, a firm set up to consolidate a number of its oil-field-services interests. It did not reveal details. A Bashneft spokesman told International Oil Daily the move repre- sents the first step in a strategy designed to make best use of the assets. It comes as most Russian integrated firms try to sell their ser- vices divisions as non-core assets - and Bashneft may do the same, although Alexan- der Korsik, vice president for energy at Bash- neft's owner, AFK Sistema, says this could take several years.
