Total Grabs Stake in Aspiring US LNG Player

Total said Tuesday that it is purchasing a 23% stake in Houston-based Tellurian Investments in a bid to beef up its LNG business, marking its second major US deal in a little over three months. The French oil and gas firm will pay around $207 million for the stake, at $5.85 per share, to develop an integrated gas project, gaining a foothold in the planned Driftwood LNG project in Louisiana on the US Gulf Coast that is intended to send out cargoes to international markets.
