Russia's Deputy Energy Minister Alexei Teksler said Tuesday that the "ball is now in Opec's court" after the breakdown of producer talks on freezing oil output in Doha on Sunday, while a top executive at leading private-sector oil firm Lukoil urged further discussion on the matter (IOD Apr.19'16). "Russia demonstrated it is ready for a dialogue and negotiations with all the interested parties," Teksler said at the National Oil and Gas Forum in Moscow, adding that Opec now has to determine its position internally, amid signs of division among its 13 members, particularly kingpin Saudi Arabia and archrival Iran.
