A decision by state-run Sinopec to delay several petrochemical projects in China due to weak demand and environmental opposition will not affect the planned 300,000 barrels per day joint venture refinery with Kuwait Petroleum Corp., industry sources tell International Oil Daily. However, the Chinese company is still struggling to decide whether to build the refinery and related chemical units at the Guangdong site simultaneously.
