Ohio coalition to recraft ballot initiative

Opponents of a controversial new Ohio law providing subsidies for nuclear and coal plants are down but not out, after the state attorney general rejected their proposed referendum to appeal the statute. A coalition known as Ohioans Against Corporate Bailouts is rewriting a summary explaining the initiative, in hopes of getting the measure on the November 2020 ballot. Attorney general Dave Yost (R) yesterday identified 21 inaccuracies and omissions in the summary that he said prevented him from certifying the language as being “a fair and truthful summing up of the measure.”
