摘要

Controlled hydrolysis of diorganotin dichlorides usually affords dimeric tetraorganodistannoxanes [R_2XSnOSnXR_2]_2 (X = Cl, OH) of type A. These compounds attract attention because of their interesting structural features and their applications as catalysts in organic chemistry. The charac-teristic structural feature of this class of compounds is a planar Sn_4Cl_4O_2 layer with a centtosymmetric Sn_2O_2 ring, known as a ladder-type structure.
