Cyclopentadienyl (Cp) zinc compounds can show great structural variation,as shown by the bis(cyclopentadienyl)di-zinc complex prepared by Carmona and co-workers.The CpZn derivatives occupy an intermediate position between the alkali-metal cyclopentadienides,whose geometric features are dominated by electrostatic ligand-metal interaction,and the electropositive early-transition-metal Cp complexes.
