Reliance starts up second phase of p-xylene plant at Jamnagar

Reliance Industries has started up a second crystallization line at its new para-xylene (p-xylene) plant at Jamnagar, India. Reliance has three crystallization lines at Jamnagar, each with 800,000-metric tons/year of capacity. Line 1 was started up in late December 2016 and line 3 is expected to start up by the end of this month, making the 2.4-million metric tons/year (MMt/y) p-xylene plant fully operational by mid-year. With this addition, Reliance's overall p-xylene capacity will more than double to 4.2 MMt/y.
